We hear you. Sharing your story can feel scary. Opening up about loneliness can often evoke feelings of shame, and this is precisely why we exist.

What we know to be true, is that loneliness affects us all - regardless of our age, or how many friends we have. The more we allow ourselves to talk, the easier it is to see and reach for the help and support that is out there.

Sometimes just having a conversation is all we really need to feel less lonely.

What will I get out of it?

By participating as an interviewee in this project, you are contributing to reducing the shame and stigma that surrounds loneliness by dismantling the idea that it only affects certain people. You are helping to provide a safe space for others to learn that they are not alone, and you’re paving the way for others to feel less lonely.

You also might find the process to be a positive experience for you personally. Some people we have interviewed in the past have told us that they felt a sense of relief after being interviewed and that talking actually made them feel stronger and more able to ask for help or support others around them. There’s a lot of power in having your voice heard.

The format of the exhibition means that the audience won't know precisely which story belongs to which photograph, so there is a level of anonymity there. And all interviewees will be compensated financially for their time as well.

We thank you for being brave enough to share your story. Without you, none of this would be possible.
